Hilda Irene Huffman

FRANKLIN, W.Va. - Hilda "Irene" Huffman, 84, of the Back Creek community in Highland County, Va., died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Pendleton Nursing Home.

She was born April 13, 1923 in Monterey, Va., a daughter of the late John Luther and Laura Blanche Sipe Hiner.

Mrs. Huffman was a homemaker. She was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church and Weekday Religious Education.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Andrew Huffman; a son, Wayne Huffman; three brothers, Arnet "Joe," John, and Glen Hiner; and two sisters, Mona Small and Lucy Shumate.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley E. Huffman of Monterey, Va.; a sister, Rella Pearl DeAscentis of Monterey, Va.; a brother, Thomas L. Hiner of Montgomery, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 13, at Beulah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Richard S. Gibson and the Rev. Donald E. Rose. Burial was in Monterey cemetery.

Pallbearers were friends attending the service.
