Promote truth, don't wallow in hypocrisy

Editor, The Recorder, If everyone in Highland County were living in a solar and energy-efficient home and, thus, not using electricity but pumping it out to the electric grid, I would support their call not to erect additional renewable generation.

The evidence is in on global warming and mountaintop removal. All of us who use electricity should be fighting to eliminate coal combustion and replace as much as possible with renewable energy wherever we can.

It is quite disingenuous, hypocritical and, probably ignorant for a newspaper to denounce one person's attempt to reduce environmental damage from the use of coal for electricity by constructing wind turbines, when the paper knows that the use of electricity generated from coal is widespread and rampant throughout Highland County.

Newspapers should exist to expose and promote the truth not to wallow in hypocrisy.
