Diving in: New pool needs concrete plan
      Monday was hot, but it was a good day for making hay. So my son and I followed the bus from Monterey to the pool in Franklin, W.Va., to cool off. We had a good time with nearly 100 other like-minded folks.

Now, the real work begins
      After two long years, Bath County citizens officially have a comprehensive plan in place that, for the most part, creates a road map accurately reflecting how the majority of its residents would like to see their county look in the foreseeable future. And evidently, what they want in the next five years is minimal development.

      The anniversary of America's birth was celebrated in Bath and Highland counties again this year in a cloud of smoke, noise and colorful explosives, a children's parade in Blue Grass, and numerous gatherings of family and friends.
