Pull together to 'go green' in the future
      Editor, The Recorder, I am really surprised about all the hype surrounding wind energy. If the only bad thing about the structures is who will remover them after their usefulness ends, I believe that to be a pretty lame argument. If they are constructed of metal then they will be valuable enough to pay for their own disposal.

      Editor, The Recorder, How soon we forget. It's nearing election time. My one purpose in writing is to remind all - to whom we are in debt of over $600,000 being used to try to scrub the dirt off their backs in issuing a building permit (for a commercial wind energy plant) which most in this community did not want.

Try walking a mile in their shoes
      Editor, The Recorder, It is undeniable that Highland County's board of supervisors has made many decisions that were not based on the county's majority. But, a man's life's work should never be over-looked. If a person should be hard working and at least show great effort, they should be praised and appreciated.

Survey could have saved lawsuit costs
      Editor, The Recorder, Highlanders are concerned about the large sums of taxpayer dollars being spent to defend and promote Mr. McBride's private industrial wind proposal for Allegheny Mountain. They may be surprised and perhaps shocked to find out that these expenses might have been avoided in a very simple way.

Local speakers a plus at Crusade
      Editor, The Recorder, The 39th annual Crusade for Christ ended last night, July 24, but the emphasis of the speaker each evening was that it will live on in the lives of those who were present. Live on in the sense that we take it into our hearts and then live it out each day.
