Cowboys, cowgirls take to the trail in Doe Hill
The McDowell Volunteer Fire Department put on one of its annual trail rides during beautiful weather last Sunday in Doe Hill. Nearly 30 riders enjoyed a three and a half hour ride through the forest to the top of the mountain and back. They were rewarded with a country lunch complete with sweet tea when the ride was over. "The ride was great," said participant Julie Harmon of Frankin, W.Va. "Awesome view from the top of the mountain." Rider Bill Parker, also from Franklin, summed it up. "Just lucky to pass through," he said. (Recorder photos by Geoff
