Garden club watches 'Truth'
MONTEREY - The Monterey Garden Club held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 5, in the Mountain View Room of the Highland County Public Library.
After the business meeting, the film, "An Inconvenient Truth," was shown. In the film, former vice president Al Gore presents his ideas on the cause and effect of global warming.
Hostess for the meeting was Diane Klein.
Exhibit judges were Ann Preston and Elizabeth McCoy.
Rhet Wilson, chair, and her committee were thanked for having new yearbooks ready for distribution. Members who missed the meeting can pick up a copy at the library.
The next meeting will be held in the Mountain View Room of the Highland County Public Library Tuesday, July 3, at 1 p.m. The program will be presented by member Shirley Weissenborn, who will share her techniques for creating her unique "spirit" jewelry.
Hostesses will be Patsy Hamilton and Sarah Samples and exhibit judges will be Caroline Smith and Peggy Creef.
