      WAYNESBORO - The Fry family team took first place at the Waynesboro Pro-Am golf tournament last week. Mark and Basil Fry of Hot Springs teamed with Greg Fry and Bill Burton of Roanoke to shoot an 18-under-par 126 in the two gross best ball competition at the par-72 Waynesboro County Club course.

      MONTEREY - The first Highland Hills 5K, sponsored by the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, had 35 runners and walkers complete the course. Participants ranged in age from 9 to 66 and came from as far away as Maryland and North Carolina to participate.
