Carpenter family
BOLAR - The descendants of Joseph Carpenter and his wife Martha Wiley held their 17th annual family reunion Sunday, June 10, at the Bolar Ruritan Hall, in Bolar.
President Otis Carpenter, Jr. welcomed everyone. Norma Botkin gave the grace and a meal was served.
Annie Tuning, Dan Carpenter and Mamie Thorn won the door prizes. Marlayna Scire and Christian Carpenter won first and second prizes in the sack race. Taylor Carpenter and Autumn Pullen won the prizes for the Frisbee throwing game, and Jarrett Wolf and William Kist won the water balloon tossing game.
Other gifts were auctioned as a fundraiser to cover reunion expenses. Next year a cakewalk will be part of the fund raising events.
A business meeting was held with the following officers being elected: president, Otis Carpenter Jr.; vice president, Jerry Campbel; treasurer, Norma Botkin; secretary, Dan Carpenter; family historians, Judith Carpenter Mays and Jerry Campbell.
