DARRELL WADE GUMM, JR.

MONTEREY - Darrell Wade Gumm Jr., 49, of Monterey, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at his home.

He was born July 25, 1957 at Hot Springs, a son of JoAnn Hartman and Darrell W. Gumm Sr., both ofMonterey.

On May 18, 1985, he married Robin Armstrong.

Mr. Gumm was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of Green Hill United Methodist Church and was on the church administrative council, a Green Hill Cemetery trustee and a member and pastpresident of Mill Gap Ruritan Club.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Bradley Wade Gumm, and a daughter, Lindsey Ann Gumm, both of the home; a sister, Linda Mitchell of Harrisonburg; a brother, Douglas Gumm of Churchville; two nieces, Meranda Lokey of Broadway and Lacy Hull of Baltimore, Md., and a very special friend and sister-in-law, Penny Hilbert of Doe Hill.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Word of Faith Church in Monterey by the Rev. Mike Sullivan, Pastor Chip Hill and Mr. Jan Dray.

Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery at Mill Gap.

Active pallbearers were David Lightner, Berlie Terry, Stacey Newcomb, Charlie Davenport, Roland Wolfe and Donald Doyle.

Honorary pallbearers were the congregation of Green Hill United Methodist Church and members of Mill Gap Ruritan Club.
