TROY DEAN
WARM SPRINGS - Troy Dean, 89, of Warm Springs, died Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.
He was born May 26, 1918 in Wise County, the son of the late Grat and Tempie Stapleton Dean.
He was married to Hazel Helmick Dean, whom he leaves behind.
Mr. Dean, better known as "Shorty" or "Dugan," retired from Virginia Hot Springs Co. where he worked as a maintenance worker for The Homestead.
He was a member of Hot Springs Baptist Church and will be remembered for his kind heart, dedication to his family and his unique personality.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Helmick Dean of Warm Springs; four brothers, identical twin Roy Dean of Warm Springs, Carson Dean of Richmond, Curtis Dean of Low Moor, and Marvin "Johnny" Dean of Ohio; two sisters,Gracie Liptrap and Ida Salyers, both of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norval "Doc" Dean, and infant brother, Walter; and three sisters, Callie Wilson, Myrtle Cauley and Beatrice Ryder.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 28, at McLaughlin Funeral Home in Hot Springs, with the Rev. Nathan Miller officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at McLaughlin Funeral Home.
