Thank you for coverage of dairy, Trimble Hall Editor, The Recorder,
My brother, John Trimble, informed me of the renovation of the (Homestead) dairy complex. I am delighted with the articles from three Recorders he has sent me of the events which have taken place.
In the May 31 edition, mention was made of honor having been paid to those serving in the military, and I am sure mention was made of those who had been killed in service to their country.
This stirred my thoughts of my long-time belief that my father was a civilian victim ofWorld War II. He was college educated and a man with impeccable integrity, thus at the behest of his boss, Fay Ingalls, head of Virginia Hot Springs Co., he held many jobs in the community of Hot Springs.
The most taxing was that of head of the Ration Board of the Hot Springs area. Dealing with the demands of the summer residents while running the dairy and farming business in the times of shortages of supplies created a high pressure-cooker job.
I realize at the time blood pressures were not monitored or treated to prevent heart attacks. A heart attack took him at a far too early an age, 58, and I do believe stress from those difficult years led to his heart attack. He gave his life doing his part in helping his country and his community.
I am delighted my dad is being honored by the hall's being named Trimble Hall. I am proud my brother shares in this honor because I know how much he has meant to the Hot Springs community.
Thank you for the coverage of this event!
