Frys takes first place in Pro-Am golf tournament
WAYNESBORO - The Fry family team took first place at the Waynesboro Pro-Am golf tournament last week.
Mark and Basil Fry of Hot Springs teamed with Greg Fry and Bill Burton of Roanoke to shoot an 18-under-par 126 in the two gross best ball competition at the par-72 Waynesboro County Club course.
The Frys won by six shots in the field of 24 teams. Each won $145 in gift certificates.
In the pro competition, Mark Fry, Cascades golf pro, finished fourth with a 2-under-par 70. He won $450.
