Snead places 76th

CONCORD, Mass. - Champions Tour golfer J.C. Snead had a 76th-place finish at the Bank of America Championship last week. The Hot Springs pro fired rounds of 76-76-78-230, 14-over-par on the par-72 Nawshatuc Course.

He won $924 and has earnings of $19,723 for the year, ranking 104th on the senior money list.

Retired golf pro Ben Layman of Hot Springs holds the course record at Nawshatuc. Layman shot an 8- under-par 64 during his tenure as the club's first pro from 1957-69, a record that has stood nearly 50 years.
