The sixth Annual Blue Grass Book Bank Fourth of July Children's Parade drew hundreds of participants and spectators Wednesday morning in downtown Blue Grass. Sunny skies matched smiling faces and forced the homemade ice cream eaters to eat fast. Like the children riding bikes, go carts, lawnmowers, and motorcycles down Main Street, the event grows every year. Above, Uncle Sam brought his family (l-r) Seth Richardson, Stacey Richardson, Grace Richardson, Emily Della, Catherine Della, Shelby Woodfin, Claire Woodfin, Courtney Hamilton Della, Adam Hamilton, and Uncle Sam, aka, Clay Hamilton. At left, (l-r) Kailey Anacarrow, Carrie Hoover, and Kathryn Anacarrow display their patriotism in the back of an El Camino. (Recorder photos by Geoff Cox)
The Highland Girl Scouts, above right, make their way through downtown Blue Grass. Awaiting the parade-goers at the Blue Grass Book Bank was delicious homemade ice cream, cookies, and lemonade.
At right, motorcyclists commandeer the street and lead a pack of various kid vehicles through town. (Recorder photos by Geoff Cox)
