| MONTEREY - The Monterey Garden Club met Tuesday, July 3 at the Highland County Library with a program presented by member Shirley Weissenborn. She shared her newfound talent for making one of-a-kind pieces of jewelry using precious metal clay. For her designs, Shirley uses silver clay.
Hostesses were Patsy Hamilton and Sarah Samples. Members who were given blue ribbons for horticulture exhibits were Elizabeth McCoy, Mary Hille McCoy, Lisa Munchel, Barbara Richards and Julia Rogers.
Blue ribbons for artistic exhibits were awarded to Mary Hille McCoy, Julia Rogers and Sarah Samples.
The next meeting will be held at the home of Carolyn Aldredge Aug. 7 at 12:30 p.m. This will be the annual club picnic and members are asked to bring a covered dish, lawn chair and their decorated yearbook.
Joining Aldredge as co- hostess for the meeting will be Cris Elliott.
Exhibit judges will be Ann Preston and Louise Rexrode.
