Wedding

OCHO RIOS, Jamaica - On Monday, May 7, 2007, Aaron Kyle Williford and Tiffany Lynn Burns were wed under cloudless, blue skies on the beach at the Club Hotel Riu in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

Williford is the son of Glen and Melissa Williford of Willow Springs, N.C.

Burns is the daughter of Tommy and Lynn Ellen Black, of Millboro, Va., and daughter of Mike Burns, of Hot Springs, Va.

The double-ring ceremony took place on a white sand beach under a wedding arch intertwined with pink and fuchsia orchids. The blend of exotic natural beauty, turquoise waters and Jamaican charm added to the ceremony.

Matron of honor was the bride's sister, Kathie Burns Sidner, of McLean, Va.

Best Man was father of the groom, Glen Williford.

The bride, escorted by her father, Mike Burns, was wearing a white, sleeveless, V-neck dress. The full length gown with a pearl studded empire waist included a train and shoulder length veil.

The matron of honor wore a tea length teal blue dress.

The men in the wedding, including the groom, wore cream colored linen suits with teal blue ties.

The mother of the bride wore a cream colored, lace jacket and slacks. The groom's mother wore a blue sun dress. The fathers wore linen suits.

The bride carried a bouquet of pink and fuchsia orchids with yellow/ white daisies that coordinated with the one carried by the matron of honor. The groom and best man wore pink fuchsia boutonnires.

The couple and guests were serenaded by a Jamaican steel band and served a traditional rum punch before the wedding.

After the service, the wedding party swam and snorkeled in the crystal waters under the Dunns River Falls' waterfall near the hotel.

The wedding reception was held in the evening under the stars in the open pavilion of the Club Hotel Riu.

The double-tiered white wedding cake had sparkling chiffon icing adorned with white carnations. The couple was toasted with champagne by the wedding party. Pink and fuchsia orchids with yellow daisies decorated the candle lit tables where dinner was served.

The newly wed couple honeymooned in a suite at the Club Hotel Riu.

Previously, to celebrate the upcoming wedding, the bride's sister, Kathie Sidner, gave a bridal shower in Raleigh, N.C. The parents of the groom also hosted a reception at their home in Willow Springs, N.C., following the couple's return from their honeymoon.

The groom is the grandson of Newt and Jennie Williford; Jimmy and Shirley Cox; and the late Maynard Mathews.
