Bath County Art Show 2007 Award Winners

ASHWOOD - The 43rd Bath County Art Show opened last weekend and runs through Sunday, July 22.

More than 600 pieces are on display at Valley Elementary School.

Judge's statement: "I have heard about the Bath County Art Show for several years, but I have not seen it before this year. What a wonderful thing it is to spend time with so many good works of art.

"The high quality of the show made this task of judging one that was both challenging and rewarding. After first selecting 125 from the 611 works in the show, my charge was to reduce that number to 62. Comparing work in various media, styles, and formats forces one to make tough choices, but that often is the most rewarding part of an art experience. I wonder how my choices will match yours?

"It has been a privilege to have been a part of the event. I thank Cathy Singleton, Lou Ann Vincent, Janice McWilliams, and everyone else who is involved in this project for asking me to judge the show. I also thank all of the artists for sharing their work with us."
