BCH announces new gynecological clinic

| HOT SPRINGS - Bath Community Hospital announces its new monthly gynecological clinic with Nina K. Smith, MD, of Harrisonburg. The clinics will be scheduled the first Monday of each month, beginning Aug. 6. Smith will offer morning clinics and afternoon gynecological procedures. Patients do not need a referral.
"We're glad to be able to provide a gynecological clinic for women so they don't have to travel far," says Chris Taylor, RN and manager of surgical services. "Dr. Smith is very well respected and qualified. We're fortunate to have the opportunity to work with her."
Smith specializes in a number of gynecological problems, including adolescent gynecology, menopause, endometriosis, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. She will also perform several types of surgical procedures at Bath Community Hospital.
Smith is a native of West Virginia and graduated from Marshall University Medical School in Huntington, W.Va. She trained three years in general surgery in Norfolk and trained for three years in obstetrics and gynecology in Reading, Pa. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Before moving to the Shenandoah Valley, Smith had a private practice in Huntington, W.Va., and served as an assistant professor of OB-GYN at the Ohio State University. While working at OSU, Smith was director of general gynecology. She is also a gynecological surgeon.
