Forbes - Burke

Mrs. Matthew Daniel Scott Burke
MILLBORO - Matthew Daniel Scott Burke and Amanda Kaye Forbes were united in marriage on Saturday, June 8, at the Millboro Christian Church, officiated by Pastor David Williams.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis and Stephanie Forbes and the sister of Nathan Forbes, all of Millboro.

She is the granddaughter of Virginia Gentry and the late Douglas L. Gentry, Sr. and Melba Forbes and the late Paul B. Forbes, also of Millboro. She is a 2007 graduate of Bath County High School.

The groom is the son of Scottie and Roxanne Burke of Craigsville. He is the grandson of Elizabeth Burke of Goshen and the late Robert Burke and John and Marie Fridley of Augusta Springs. He is self-employed by Burke Family Logging.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a strapless, white silky satin dress, adorned with pastel sequins and full flowing layers from the waist down. She carried a bouquet of white roses, pastel lavender and yellow spring flowers and streaming ivory made by her mother.

Monica Plecker, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor. Mandy Burke, friend of the bride and Holly Burke, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids. Taylor Gentry, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Scottie Burke was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Michael and Blake Burke, brothers of the groom.

Guest book attendant was Beth Gentry, and Sarah Gentry, programs, both cousins of the bride. Katie Williams, friend of the bride, handled the music.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in their honor at the Goshen First Aid Crew Building.

The couple has made their home at 3422 Little Calf Pasture Highway, Craigsville.
