Highland County School Board
In Brief . . .
The school board met Aug. 6 in the Highland High School library, and hired Thomas R. Boxler, carpentry teacher; Elizabeth Hylton, business teacher; and Lois Terry, cheerleading coach. The board also accepted the resignation of cafeteria worker Betty Waggoner.
The next meeting is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 to review the school crisis plan, as required by the state board of education, and take personnel action - possibly hiring a cafeteria worker and instructional assistant. The review must be completed by Aug. 31.
Teachers return to school Aug. 13 and students return Aug. 20. Early release is Aug. 28 and Aug. 29- Sept. 3 is the fair/Labor Day break.
