Two accidents in Bath total vehicles
WARM SPRINGS - On Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 11 p.m., Ron Hall and a passenger, both 16, left the Millboro carnival. According to State Trooper J.D. Bostic, as Hall rounded a curve on Route 710, a tenth of a mile from Route 635, he went off onto the soft right shoulder, which caused the car to roll down the embankment. Rolling over several times, the car landed 50 feet below. Hall and his passenger were "bruised and scratched," said Bostic, and were taken to Stonewall Jackson Hospital in Lexington by Hall's parents. The car was totaled and no charges were filed.
In Warm Springs last Monday, Clifton "Ray" Ryder's 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier overturned into the creek below Old Germantown Road, Route 692. Bostic said Ryder left the courthouse, drove down the hill and made a right onto Route 692. In making the turn, the car ran off the left side of the road and hit a utility pole, knocking it over before landing upside down in the creek. The sheriff's office and responders arrived at the scene at 12:50 p.m. Ryder said he had "no brakes," Bostic said. Though the car was totaled, Ryder had no injuries, and the car was towed out.
