Labor Day Fair planned at St. Thomas

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. - Catch up with new and old friends on the lawn of St. Thomas Episcopal Church at the 59th Anniversary Fair celebration on Monday, Sept. 3. The annual event starts at 9 a.m. on the front lawn of the church located at 205 West Main Street (Route 60) in White Sulphur Springs.

Everyone will be there and many folks come early to browse the White Elephant and Book Sale table in search of the bargains while enjoying a cup of coffee and one of Jane Withers' Elephant Ears. The kids always have fun in the jumping castle and play the games put on by pages from the Greenbrier Episcopal School.

Naturally there are baked goods galore, lots of homemade jams, jellies, pickles, designer vinegars, and Phebe Gillespie's orange bread. At a special table from Ronceverte's Church of the Incarnation is, amongst other goodies, John Williamson's North Carolina BBQ Vinegar Sauce.

Getting hungry? Good! As the aroma of hamburgers and hot dogs sizzling on the grill is rather enticing. But if you prefer, there is the famous St. Thomas chicken salad plated lunch served to you complete with a drink and dessert under the shade of the great oak tree.

Don't miss the chance for a chance on some raffle prizes like the Gourmet Basket or the limited edition signed 71/300 Menagerie with music print by the artist Carol Jablousky. If that isn't enough, the parishioners of St. Thomas have many years experience in creating beautiful handicrafts for you, your home or to give as a gift so do come and check out the selections.
