Sheriff's Report

Bath County

Aug 7 - Answered complaint of citizen shooting a gun, Virginia Hill area of Hot Springs.

Aug 8- Conducted well-being check on a Rocky Ridge resident.

Aug 8- Answered complaint of neighbor dispute, Burnsville.

Aug 9- Conducted well-being check on Hot Springs resident.

Aug10- Answered complaint of a dispute at a Hot Springs residence.

Aug 11- Assisted state police with traffic accident, Route 39, Millboro Springs.

Aug 11- Alleheny sheriff's office notified Bath dispatch about a possible drowning at Walton Track, Route 42, Millboro area. Special agent Alan Brown of Virginia State police is investigating. Reports indicated a four-year-old child was the victim.

Aug 12- Checked on complaint of intoxicated citizen in Hot Springs.

Major N.T. Dunnagan, chief deputy, reminds residents of Bath County that the sheriff's office has an anonymous tip line available. Anyone wishing to report any type of criminal activity, including drug abuse, may do so anonymously by calling (540) 839-5639, and leave a message on the voice mail. Callers may be assured their calls will be kept confidential. The assistance provided by citizens in these matters is essential in combating crime.

Aug. 1 - Assisted citizen with medical emergency.

Aug. 1 - Assisted Augusta County deputies with arrest of a fugitive.

Aug. 1 - Responded to a report of a reckless driver, Highland Turnpike in Head Waters.

Aug. 2 - Assisted a stranded motorist.

Aug. 2 - Investigated a report of larceny, Jack Mountain Road.

Aug. 2 - Investigated a report of destruction of property, Mill Dam Lane.

Aug. 2 - Responded to a report of a bear in a tree in yard, The Pines Road.

Aug. 2 - Provided funeral escort from Obaugh Funeral Home to Strait Creek.

Aug. 3 - Received a report of a bear on porch, Potomac River Road.

Aug. 3 - Investigated a report of a gas drive-off, Main Street.

Aug. 3 - Responded to a report of a vehicle fire, Mountain Turnpike.

Aug. 3 - Received a report of destruction of property, Blue Grass Valley Road.

Aug. 4 - Received a report of a bear on porch, Potomac River Road.

Aug. 4 - Responded to a report of a tree across the road, Burnsville Road.

Aug. 4 - Provided coverage for the Mountain Mama Bicycle Rally.

Aug. 4 - Responded to a report of a reckless driver, Mill Gap Road.

Aug. 4 - Responded to a report of a disabled tractor-trailer, Highland Turnpike.
