Several Highland and Bath musicians performed in the American premiere of Paran (Son of My Life), a tango by Italian composer Pierino Codevilla, as part of the Aug. 26 concert by the McLean Chamber Soloists orchestra at The Highland Center. Participating were Highland High School students: Laurel Blagg and Caitlin Ralston, clarinet; James Folks, percussion; and Amanda Blagg, violin. Also playing in the piece were Highland High School Band director Jerry Philp on euphonium and Warm Springs resident Debbie Yarrow on clarinet and alto saxophone. The concert's final number, Jay Unger's Lover's Waltz, featured, as soloists, Highland residents Patti Reum on flute and Tom Brody on guitar.
