Homestead ranked one of nation's top 10 golf resorts
HOT SPRINGS - The readers of "Cond NasTt raveler" have ranked The Homestead in the top 10 of the"Top 100 Golf Resorts In North America, The Caribbean, and The Atlantic, and Ireland and Scotland."
The historic resort boasts three championship golf courses and has been honored with the No. 9 placement on this year's Reader's Choice Poll, out-ranking famous competitors such as The Greenbrier, Fairmont, St. Andrews in St. Andrews, Scotland and Pebble Beach Resorts.
"The Homestead has been renowned for golf since the opening of The Old Course in 1892, but nothing brings us more pleasure than the readers of "Cond Nast Traveler" -our guests- placing us in such high esteem," says Sean Maddock, vice president and general manager of The Homestead."Cond Nast Traveler's" poll reflects responses from 4,300 of the publication's readers who were asked to evaluate 339 golf resorts they had visited in the past three years. Resorts were rated on seven criteria: course design, speed of play, pro staff, accommodations, service, food and dining, and facilities.
Out of the 100 resorts on the list, The Homestead received an overall score of 90.7. Additionally, high scoring categories of note include a rating of 92.0 for the golf pro staff and a rating of 96.2 for the resort's overall facilities. Also, The Homestead achieved a perfect score of 100 points for its elevated level of food and dining services; - the only resort on the list to receive a perfect score in this category.
