Author explains Rexrode family
 | | William D. "Bill" Rexroad |
| FRANKLIN, W.Va. - A talk about the life of George Rexrode Sr., prominent citizen of Pendleton County in the late 1700s and early 1800s, will be presented at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Pendleton County Library in Franklin. The speaker will be William D. "Bill" Rexroad of Hutchinson, Kan.
Rexroad is a lecturer and award-winning author of several books, three of which deal with Rexrode ancestry. His latest book, "George Rexrode Senior of Virginia," is the subject of his talk. He will have this book and two others available at a book signing following the talk.
George Rexrode Sr. was a greatgreat great-great-grandfather of author Rexroad. Many other Rexrode people in the area are also descendants of George Sr. Much has been written about the man, but Rexroad said his research for the book uncovered a number of inaccuracies. These are described in the book and will be explained in his talk.
The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library in Franklin. It is free and open to the public.
