Highland County official voting information
MONTEREY - The Constitution of Virginia requires that you must be registered in the precinct where you live to be qualified to vote.
For the convenience of the citizens of Highland county, the voter registration office on Spruce Street in Monterey will be open each week Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 1 through Dec. 31.
In order to be eligible to vote in the Nov. 6 2007 general elections you must register to vote on later that 5 p.m. on Oct. 9.
The voter registration office will be open for absentee applications and absentee voting. In addition the office will be open on the following dates and times for registered voters who need to vote by absentee ballot for the Nov. 6 general election, Saturday Oct. 27, and Saturday Nov. 3.
