Sheriff supports Lightner in this year's election

I'm writing this letter in support of Sheriff Herb Lightner in his quest to be reelected to the office of Sheriff.
I have known Herb for many years and I know that he has proven to be an effective and proactive leader in the area of law enforcement.
During my years as Sheriff this office had interacted with the Highland County sheriff's Office on numerous occasions and has always had the highest degree of cooperation. The reason this Rockingham County resident is making his feelings known in a Highland County election is that crime in out communities is changing. We (Highland and Rockingham) are dealing with the same criminal element more frequently.
I know that in Herb Lightner, Highland County will have someone that is innovative, professional and willing to help build a common front with Rockingham County to combat the problems that law abiding citizens face.
