Millboro Happenings By Gina Hamilton
¦ The Youth Club at Windy Cove Church will begin on Thursday, Oct. 11. (Students in grades five through seven are invited to participate. This is the 25th (anniversary year for Youth Club at Windy Cove, so we are guessing there are a number of parents out there who attended Youth Club when they were kids! Parents, it's still as fun as you remember it. We meet after school until 7 p.m. The meeting includes worship, (recreation, a sit-down dinner together, and Bible class, plus games (and stunts and joyful fun. Parents are invited to visit any time, (but especially to participate in the candlelight spaghetti dinner on Thursday, (Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. Please reserve a spot for that dinner by (calling 540-997-5395 or e-mailing youth@windycovechurch.org.
¦ Are you worn out, stressed, anxious, tired? Try soaking! Yes, (soaking, at Windy Cove Church. What is soaking? Well, we're not all going to get into a hot tub together, although that would be fun. We are going to experience God's presence, peace and comfort in a quiet setting with calming music, thoughtful meditation, and serene sharing. The program started Wednesday (Oct. 3), at the church, and will continue every Wednesday at 8:08 p.m. until Christmas. Soaking is a form of the ancient practice of contemplative prayer, dressed up for modern life. If you need a break, if you'd like some relief, give soaking a try.

¦ Three visitors from Delaware were in town all of last week, staying at the Hamilton family home. The two brothers, John and Glenn Towery, are longtime friends of Alex Hamilton. They brought along family friend Harry Knight and came to tour our scenic back roads and byways on their motorcycles, which they transported on a trailer. The fellows couldn't get enough of the beautiful region, the friendly people, and the peaceful surroundings. At home in Dover, Del., the Towerys operate a car repair business where they specialize in British cars. By all accounts, they had a fine respite in Bath County.
