JAMES EDWARD "RATTLE SNAKE" YOUNG

HOT SPRINGS - James Edward "Rattle Snake" Young, 46, of Hot Springs, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at his residence.

He was born Nov. 10, 1960 in Charleston, W.Va., the son of Retha Fox Young of Hot Springs, and the late Wilbur Lee Young.

Mr. Young was a 1978 graduate of Stuarts Draft High School. He grew up in Lyndhurst, and later moved to the Crimora/Harriston area where he lived most of his life before moving to Hot Springs. He had a passion for trucking, which he started doing at the age of 12. He was a former truck driver for Boyd Wetzel of North & South Lines and for The Whiteford Trucking Co.

His true love was his daughters. Not being able to be the kind of father he wanted to be when they were growing up, he "became" the father and grandfather they truly loved. He attended Piney Grove Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Jami Grace Young and Kristi Erin Young, both of Waynesboro; six brothers, Clyde Young and wife Connie of Greenville, Jarry Young and wife Shirley of Stuarts Draft, Duane Alltop of Waynesboro, David Young and wife Teresa of Stuarts Draft, John Young and wife Debbie of Hot Springs, Joe Young and wife Kim, of Stuarts Draft; two sisters, Debbie Hite and husband Steve of Stuarts Draft, Dianna Via and husband Ronnie of Grottoes; a granddaughter, Trinity Nicole Young; a special companion and best friend, Darska Young of Hot Springs; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Hot Springs with the Rev. W. Ed Mansfield officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. or anytime at the home of John and Debbie Young.
