At the age of 22 he enlisted into the Army and became a communications officer at the White House where he worked directly for President Johnson and President Nixon. He was a loving husband and outstanding father who cherished his family above all else. He treasured vacations in the Outer Banks with his family at his side and weekend outings with his wife. He is a devout Catholic who enjoyed participating in the Catholic community and now resides with Our Heavenly Father.

A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at Monterey United Methodist Church by Father Tom Collins and the Rev. Derek Tomek.
