Charger boys third; Ram girls first at James River
GREENFIELD PARK - Ram Shane Wiseman and Charger Alex Haney finished third and fourth while Highland's Haley Billingsley finished second in her first meet this year in a district match at James River Wednesday, Sept. 26.
Billingsley's time helped lead the Rams to a first-place finish in the girls' meet behind Rams Molly Mobley and Morgan Jones, who finished fifth and sixth.
"With Haley back, we have a great shot at going to regionals," said Ram coach Mike Warf.
Haney paced a solid core of runners to give the Bath boys a third-place finish. Tyler Bradley and Ian Walker pulled in solid ninth- and 10th-place finishes to bring the team score in third place.
"We are doing better and are more competitive," said Bath coach Lisa Hamilton.
Wiseman's third-place finish was one minute off the winner and the next Ram crossing the line was Chris Moore, three and a half minutes off the pace.
