Women's retreat to be held
MILLBORO - There will be a Women's Retreat at Camp Accovac in Millboro on Oct. 26 and 27. There is no cost to attend this retreat. Preregistration is not required.
The retreat will begin Friday night with praise and worship at 7 p.m. The theme for the retreat will be "Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall ... Are We Reflecting Jesus?"
The speaker Friday night will be Misty Sullivan. Sullivan, along with her husband and two boys, have become the new managers of Camp Accovac.
There will be a time of refreshments and fellowship with a candlelight service to close the evening's activities.
Breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Praise and worship will begin at 9:30 a.m. The morning speaker will be Bonnie Nicely. Nicely is the young adult Sunday school teacher at the Lone Star Advent Christian Church on Nicelytown Road.
Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Praise and worship in the afternoon will begin at 1:30 p.m. The speaker for the afternoon session will be Shirley Bruffey, the associate pastor of the Good News Fellowship Church in Covington.
The retreat will conclude around 3:30 p.m. with tea and fellowship.
Taking part in the praise and worship times will be Eric and Wendy Good of Hot Springs; Sandra Denius of Lone Star Advent Christian Church; The Pine Street Baptist Worship in Dance Team, as well as Lynn Agee, Sandra Haynes, Jane Wright, Mary Pandofini, Traci Herscher, Erin Clark, Robin Powell and Maggie Nicely will also share their musical talents.
Camp Accovac is located on Routes 42 and 39, two miles northeast of Millboro Springs. All women of the area are welcome to attend. You may come for part or all of the retreat. An offering will be taken. Dress causal; wear warm clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
Lodging will be available on a first call basis. The motel style building has 10 rooms with three to a room. The efficiency cabins have 16 beds and seven cabins have 14 beds each.
