Medical center hires local interim director Board starts 2nd search for leader
MONTEREY - Kim Billingsley has been appointed interim executive director of Highland Medical Center, effective Oct. 10.
Former director Dr. Polly Newlon submitted her resignation in March, but has stayed on to assure a smooth transition in leadership.
Billingsley is a certified public accountant and has had a small business in Highland County since she moved here with her husband, Kirk, and daughters, Julia and Hayley, in 1993.
Billingsley has served as chief financial of- ficer of HMC since 2004.
In her interim capacity, she will fulfill the duties of both CFO and executive director. After an extensive search effort, the center now begin another search for a permanent director.
Bill Ellenburg, president of the HMC board of directors, said, "We (the board) are looking forward to working closely with Kim. She is a very capable individual, and we anticipate a period of continued growth and service to the community under her leadership."
