Public Hearing Agenda ¦ Proposed amendments to local code on, solid waste and building regulations, regarding construction solid waste fees. The proposed amendments increase the amount of the construction solid waste fee for new construction, renovation and addition projects and include a sliding scale fee related to the income of the applicant Demolition projects pay the prevailing tonnage fees at the transfer station for the cost of the waster disposal, as opposed to paying a construction solid waste fee when the permit is obtained. All applications for building permits shall provide an affidavit that solid waste shall be properly disposed. The construction solid waste fees are separate and payable when obtaining a building permit as opposed to the business solid waste fees which are paid yearly.

General Agenda ¦ Bath County financial report as of Oct. 31. ¦ Bath County Public Schools financial report as of Oct. 31. ¦ Accept resignation from Rockbridge Community Services Board member. ¦ Extension of time for county-wide reassessment. ¦ Consideration sesquicentennial committee for the American Civil War and appointing of committee chairman/liaison to represent the county. ¦ Consider potential placement of additional family consumer services agent in the extension office. ¦ Review of revised 2008-09 budget calendar and approval or revision of instructions to county departments and agencies on budget development. ¦ Request for claims from Burley and Darlene Hise. ¦ Next meeting date on coalition on illegal aliens. ¦ Proposed grant from wireless board for tax map improvements. ¦ Ratify cancellation of request for proposals for old Millboro School asbestos abatement and demolition. ¦ Request for refund of building permit issued for barn ($35 to Ira and Helen Stinespring) - The building, planning and zoning department accepted a building permit payment of $35 for an accessory building, but when the building official determined it was a barn, he requested a refund be issued to the owners because the agricultural buildings do not require a building permit. ¦ Discussion of leave granted for holidays by the governor and whether the board wishes to grant the addition time to county employees as follows: Thanksgiving, Wednesday, Nov. 21, close at noon (four additional hours), Thursday- Friday, Nov. 22-23 (already off); Christmas, Monday, Dec. 24 (eight additional hours), Tuesday, Dec. 25 (already off); New Year's, Monday, Dec. 31 (eight additional hours), Tuesday, Jan. 1 (already off). ¦ Discussion of tree lighting plans and swearing in new members and officers at Dec. 11 meeting.
