Foundation lays new year plans

The Bath County Chamber Board of Directors has announced that Melinda Nichols has been promoted from office manager to the position of director for the Bath County Chamber of Commerce. She joined the chamber in August 2005 and has been instrumental in its continued successful operations. said Bath chamber board president Pete Minetree. "Without her supervision, few if any of the activities sponsored by the chamber would be possible," he said. "The membership has continued to grow at the rate of about ten percent each year, largely as a result of her efforts. Each month approximately 550 people visit the chamber offices, and without exception they leave impressed with the service provided by our staff and the variety of things our county has to offer. Her relationship with everyone in the business community, county government, and our visitors is exceptional. This promotion to director recognizes not only her dedication but also the impressive increase in the scope of chamber activities and growth, as well as expectations for future expansion."
