Open house scheduled
MONTEREY - Cold weather has finally arrived, and with it come thoughts of the holidays. Giving gifts from the heart and enjoying home cooked foods are usually the first things that come to mind, and there is no better place to find both than at The Highland Center's Holiday Treasures Market and Open House.
This year's market will be held Nov. 30 from noon to 6 p.m., and Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the center, on Spruce Street in Monterey. It will feature unique handcrafted items including wreaths and seasonal crafts, Virginia made foods and beverages, maple products, yarn and wool items, woodwork, baked goods and much more.
In conjunction with treasures market, an open house of The Highland Center will also be held. During this special event, staff will be available to discuss the center's programs and future plans. Tenants like Blue Roof Caterers with fresh baked goods, the Highland Senior Citizens with apple butter and a quilt raffle, the Ballet Academy, the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, and the arts council will open their doors to visitors, and will provide an inside look into their daily operations. For more information contact The Highland Center at 540-468-1922.
