Writer corrects numbers in letter to SCC on wind
Editor, The Recorder,

On finding an error in the calculations of my letter of Oct. 26 to the commissioners at State Corporation Commission, I sent a revised letter on Nov. 9 in which I corrected the error.

I had calculated that the time the turbines' blades would be shut down for mitigation purposes would be 31 days, which I thought would be inadequate.

Upon recalculation I discovered that there would be only three days provided for shut down of the turbines. This of course, compounds the already pretense at mitigation and makes evident the necessity of more meaningful means for the protection of wildlife, despite whatever anxiety it might cause the investors in wind energy.

Orren L. Royal, M.C. M.S.

Captain (NC) USN(Ret.)

Dublin, Va.
