Bath's big supper draws 100 to dine

Cathy Singleton, left, enjoyed a moment with Becky and Richard Armstrong, center, and Blanche Sizemore, right, before the dinner. The Armstrongs first organized Bath's Community Thanksgiving Feast about 10 years ago, along with her parents, Junie and the late Walter Failes.
Taking his traditional position at the dishwashing sink during the Thanksgiving feast was commonwealth's attorney Chris Singleton. He was joined by Cedar Creek district supervisor Percy Nowlin, and county administrator Bonnie Johnson.
Jean Stinnet, right, chatted with Olivia Peery before the feast began. (Recorder photos by Margo Oxendine)
George Stoklasa, left, and Sepp Kober shared a conversation while they were helping set food on the table at the Community Thanksgiving Feast. (Recorder photo by Margo Oxendine)
The 50-foot food table nearly groaned, it was so loaded with turkey, ham and all the fixin's. (Recorder photo by Margo Oxendine)
... and then, there were the desserts.
... and in the end, all that remained were dishes to wash.
At left, John Wright and his daughter Sarah enjoyed a quiet family moment before filling their plates with turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and lots of extras. (Recorder photo by Margo Oxendine)
At right, Janet Andrews, 93, and Aalijah Long, 2, received gifts from Hella Armstrong for being the youngest, and oldest, who attended the Community Thanksgiving Feast. Janet sported a lovely floral scarf for the remainder of the afternoon, while Aalijah enjoyed his meal with a cuddly stuffed dog at his side. (Recorder photo by Margo Oxendine)
