Three wars, three veterans; World War II vet Alvin Durham (l-r), Iraqi Freedom vet Major Jeff Farmer and Korean Conflict vet Tommy Wood gathered with other veterans at Woodland Church Nov. 11 for a program and luncheon in their honor. Farmer spoke from a soldier's perspective about operation Iraqi Freedom. He experienced the conflict firsthand as both a soldier and a civilian engineer. Farmer's sister Beth added to the service by singing "The Star Spangled Banner" and "The Alabaster Jar." Veteran Jack Compton set up displays of service objects in different areas of the church. All veterans attending were recognized at the beginning of the service. This service is an annual program of Woodland Union Church at Fairview. (Photo courtesy Linda Weiss)
