BLUE GRASS - Highland Data Services Inc. has announced the retirement of Linda G. Johnston of Monterey, who leaves her position as production manager after more than 24 years of service at the Blue Grass company. Before coming to Highland Data, she was employed at Aileen Corp. in Monterey.

Johnston started her career at Highland Data as a data entry operator when the company opened in 1983. She quickly moved into supervisory and management roles and, at the time of her retirement, her responsibilities included personnel management, oversight of daily production, and computer room operations. In previous years, she was instrumental in the startup and training of personnel for Highland Data branch operations in West Virginia and North Carolina.

Johnston and her husband, David, reside in the Strait Creek area of Highland County. They have two daughters, Lisa Johnston and Cheryl Capps, both of Richmond.

"Highland Data would like to extend its gratitude to Mrs. Johnston for her years of loyalty and professionalism in performance of her varied duties," said vice president Edmund Hevener. "Linda will be sorely missed as a vital part of the management team. After working together for over 24 years, the loss is both personal and professional. We wish Linda and her husband, David, the very best as they enjoy their retirement together."
