Standouts Jake and John Phillips as they prepare for their senior seasons of college football.

In Williamsburg, Jake returns as the Colonial Athletic Association's most experienced quarterback for William & Mary. A third-team all-CAA pick last year, Jake has 22 career starts, including all 11 last season. "I think Jake has a chance to be the best quarterback in our league," Tribe coach Jimmye Laycock earlier this month. "He's a smart kid and he works hard."

W & M was 4-7 overall last season. Spring practice concludes with the annual spring game on April 12. The Tribe opens its season on Sept. 6 at N.C State.

In Charlottesville, John Phillips returns as the most experienced tight end for Virginia. John was fifth on the team in receptions last year and has also had valuable time on special teams for the Cavaliers.

Virginia was 9-4 overall last year and lost in the Gator Bowl to Texas Tech. Spring practice concludes with the annual spring game on April 12 at 2 p.m. Virginia opens its season at home against Southern California on Aug. 30.
