More ... Boys' Home, Inc. of Covington recently held its P. Buckley Moss raffle. This is the 17th consecutive year artist P. Buckley Moss has donated a piece to be raffled. Like past years, all proceeds benefit various programs at Boys' Home. Boy's Home residents (l-r) Jhakee Avant and Derek Snyder display this year's piece to be raffled, called "The River's Joy." The painting, valued at more than $500, was framed by Loving Frame and Art of Covington, triple matted, and signed by Moss. The work focuses on a fisherman enjoying the river and its surroundings. When Millboro resident Willie Ryder said he had hibiscus plants with flowers the size of dinner plates, he was not exaggerating! These beauties are growing on the front of the home he shares with his wife, Gladys, on Mill Creek Road. CLIFTON FORGE — Clifton Forge Town Council passed an ordinance Tuesday enacting emergency water restrictions for the town, but that doesn't mean the restrictions are in effect immediately.
