Recreation rights do not trump property rights
      Editor, The Recorder, I react to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries' study on hunting with hounds. I begin by taking note that Virginia is properly concerned with property rights in this study, but gives far too much importance to a recreation — hunting.

Join Safehome for vital awareness event Oct. 12
      Editor, The Recorder, October is Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In recognition of this important month, Safehome will be sponsoring its third annual "Walk a Mile in Their Shoes." The event will be held on Sunday, Oct. 12 from 1-3 p.m. at Jackson River Sports Complex in Covington.

Millboro resident tired of politics, ads, and debates
      Editor, The Recorder, Thank goodness for the TV remote button that says "mute." I don't think I could get by the next weeks political campaigning without it. I would like to meet person who invented the little piece of technology that could possibly spare one's sanity. I would nominate that genius for the Nobel Peace Prize.
