James Edward Hostetter
HOT SPRINGS — James Edward Hostetter, 72, of 193 Hidden Trail, Hot Springs, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1936 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Samuel Joseph Hostetter and Adelaide Callaghan Hostetter.
On Dec. 10, 1960, he married his wife of 47 years, Jerry Carpenter Hostetter.
Mr. Hostetter was retired from the Homestead as a chef cook with more than 43 years of service. He was a member of the Fort Lewis Hunt Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph Lee Smith of Hamilton, and Richard E. Hostetter and wife Elizabeth of Hot Springs; two daughters, Tammy S. Boguess and husband Billy of Greenville, S.C., and L. Jean Hesketh and special companion Kenny of Montrose; two sisters, Dorothy Powell of Roanoke, and Shirley Farris of Covington; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Samuel and Katie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 13 at McLaughlin and Young Funeral Home in Hot Springs. Interment was in Warm Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nicholas Hesketh, Andrew Hesketh, Samuel Hostetter, Joseph Smith, Richard Hostetter and Billy Boguess.
