More ... Vanderpool resident Amy Middleton's Izuzu Trooper lies upside down in the middle of U.S. 250 at the top of Jack Mountain. Shortly after noon on Sunday, Middleton struck a piece of firewood lying in the road, causing the axle on her vehicle to break. Out of control, she went for a ride up the bank and rolled to a stop on the hardtop. O. More ... On Sunday, Nov. 16, the "Toys for Tots" campaign began at Wal-Mart in Covington for the fifth year. This drive collects monetary donations and toys to help the Highlands and Bath County Christmas Mother programs complete their shopping lists. The collected toys will be given to children who have qualified for the area Christmas Mother programs. Monetary donations are collected also and used to purchase additional toys for each program.
