Millboro Happenings By Gina Hamilton
¦ Many folks enjoyed watching a fine Christmas parade in town on Saturday, Dec. 22, and kids were eager to pick up candy tossed out along the parade route. The weather cooperated, too, with rain in the forecast holding off during the event. After the parade, families with young children visited with Santa upstairs in the fire association building and members of the association provided free Polaroid photos to document the occasion.
¦ This year's annual music program and hymn sing at Millboro Presbyterian Church was held a day before New Year's Eve, on Sunday, Dec. 30, from 6-9 p.m. Those who attended the event enjoyed spirited singing accompanied by the Backyard Gospel Band and a great amount of delectable refreshments. It was a fine way to prepare for the New Year.
¦ Speaking of the New Year, it is a good time to reflect on the blessings we have in this community, especially the caring people who never hesitate to pitch in and help someone else in time of difficulty. May the feeling of goodwill continue in 2008.
