4-H kicks off 2008
MONTEREY - Four-H is celebrating the start of a new year. The Highland County Cloverbud 4-H Club is growing and the group would like more youth to join.
The club is open to youth ages 5-8. The Cloverbud program is a child's introduction to 4-H. Children learn and develop life skills through fun, non-competitive, hands-on projects and activities that are supervised by adult volunteers and extension staff.
Cloverbuds meet once each month for 1-2 hours after school, with most meetings held in Monterey.
Cloverbuds also hold special events like a club sleepover and a local summer day camp. There are opportunities throughout the year for Cloverbuds to enjoy other 4-H camps with their parents and grandparents at one of Virginia's many 4-H centers.
To join or obtain more information, contact the Highland County Extension Office at 468-2225.
If you are a person with a disability and desire assistance or accommodations to participate in 4- H activities, contact the VCEHighland Unit Office at 468-2225 during business hours to discuss accommodations.
