Cattle conference scheduled
STAUNTON - Area cattle producers are invited to attend the Virginia Pasture Cattle Conference before taking in the Virginia Farm Show. The conference will be held at the Holiday Inn in Staunton on Wednesday, Jan. 23 beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m.
Mike Miller, chief operating officer for Cattlefax, will be the conference keynote speaker. Cattlefax is one of the nation's foremost providers of beef market forecasting and economic analysis to the beef industry. Miller will discuss the 2008 grass cattle outlook and give producers some in- sight into what the near term market might hold.
The conference will run from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will allow participants an opportunity to visit the Virginia Farm Show at the Augusta Expoland in Fishersville in the afternoon.
