Wind project permit stands; no appeals filed
RICHMOND - The deadline for appealing the State Corporation Commission's permit of Highland New Wind Development's proposal for a wind energy utility in Highland County came and went this week.
Neither the developer nor any parties involved in the per- mitting process filed an intent to appeal the decision to Virginia's Supreme Court.
HNWD says it will now proceed to find financing, and take the next steps toward securing a county building permit, and hopes to have construction under way by the end of this year.
